October 14, 2010:
KYIQ's Anne Peak attended the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Annual Program Meeting, in Portland, OR.
She presented a poster and gave a talk detailing her work
with KYIQ, a groundbreaking piece involving a case study and
program evaluation of the KYIQ group. Her work was
well-received among the approximately 3,000 attendees!
October 29, 2010:
KYIQ will send Anne Peak and Lois Pemble participated
in the Christian Care Communities' annual meeting with a panel discussion (facilitated by Tim Veno) addressing the question,” What does Kentucky need (and expect) from its largest faith-based long-term care provider?” KYIQ has been asked to offer ideas on ways to maximize resources to improve care.
June 21, 2010:
Anne Peak and Lois Pemble were invited to speak to a
meeting of the District Long Term Care Ombudsman on Monday
June 21. The subject of the talk was the Facility to
Facility Mentoring Program that is now available. The
program encourages nursing homes to engage in a partnered
development with a different home to share expertise and
information in order to improve practices and programs. Any
nursing home is eligible to participate at no cost either as
mentor or mentee. The Ombudsmen present were encouraged to
introduce the program to administrators and invite them to
investigate further.

June 22, 2010: KYIQ
Group exhibited at the Annual UK Summer Series on Aging,
held at the Marriott Griffin Gate in Lexington.
June 23, 2010: Lois
Pemble attended meeting of the Ky Coalition for Person
Centered Care. The discussion focused on plans for the web
site and the upcoming Pioneer Network Conference to be held
in August in Indianapolis.

April 21, 2010: Nancy Trentham and Lois Pemble
of KYIQ met with Kimberly Baker, Kentucky State
Ombudsman in Frankfort. Discussion centered on the
Mentoring Program sponsored by the Office of the
Ombudsman and KYIQ.
KYIQ sponsors a holiday gift tree called "Silver Bells."
Joseph Beth Booksellers, at Lexington Green and Worlds Apart
in Chevy Chase each hosted a 'Silver Bells" Holiday Gift
Tree decorated with names of nursing home residents in
Fayette County.
It was a rousing success for
Fayette Co, KY. We distributed 586 gift bags to 11 nursing
homes in the county. It has been really heartwarming to see
the beautiful gifts that people brought. Everyone is up for
next year with imnprovements in our control system! Thanks
to everyone who helped and made a big difference.

May 16, 2009:
KYIQ Group exhibited at the Open Doors
Ministry Long Term Care Health Fair in Louisville. The State
Ombudsman, Kimberly Baker gave the keynote address. There
was information on all aspects of long term care. The KYIQ
Group looks forward to participating in future activities of
this type.
June 22 & 23, 2009: KY IQ Group presented an exhibit table at the
UK Summer Series on Aging. Location: Marriott Griffin Gate
in Lexington, KY.

June 24, 2009: KYIQ Group hosted a
multi-disciplinary meeting in Lexington to explore the
concept of Facility to Facility Mentoring as a means of
enhancing care for all residents.
